Migrations Officer at the Migration Agency
At the Migration Agency, we work with one of the major societal issues of our time – migration. We are approximately 6,000 people here, and we have a uniquely important job!
We are looking for migration officers for our four permit processing units in Sundbyberg.
With us, you will work on current societal issues that are influenced by what happens in our surroundings. Issues that concern and engage. We offer a dynamic environment characterized by meeting people and continuous learning.
What does a migration officer do?
With us, you will handle, investigate, and prepare proposals for decisions on applications for residence permits related to family reunification and the mobility directive within the EU/EEA. Based on experience and competence, you may also be delegated to make your own decisions in simpler cases. The decisions have legal effects for individuals and affect their rights to benefits, rights, and obligations. In your role, you will have contact with individuals applying for residence permits in Sweden, as well as other stakeholders.
Who are you?
We are looking for someone who has good collaboration skills, is analytical, and understands complex linguistic materials, both spoken and written. Furthermore, you produce your own documents of high linguistic quality. To thrive with us, you need to be flexible and easily adapt to changing circumstances. The permit units handle a large number of cases annually, and the role of an officer requires you to be structured, meticulous, and able to independently plan and organize work effectively towards set goals and deadlines.
In our work as civil servants, there are also high demands for judgment and a strong awareness of security and confidentiality.
You who are applying have
- A university education of at least 120 credits with a legal, social science, or behavioral science focus, or other education combined with relevant experience for the role
- Knowledge of administrative law matters
- Good communication skills and express yourself well in both spoken and written Swedish and English
- Good knowledge of the Office suite
It is an advantage if you have
- Experience in roles requiring good service and professional interaction
- Current experience in handling administrative law matters
